Raspberry-Walnut Shortbread Bar

Shortbread base:
Combine 1 1/4 cup flour and 1/2 cup sugar, cut in 1/2 cup of butter until mixture is like a fine meal.  Press lightly into bottom of a 9-inch square pan that has been sprayed with PAM.  Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until a light golden brown.  DO NOT OVERBAKE.  Remove from oven and spread 1/3 cup of raspberry jam over the shortbread.

2 eggs
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp baking soda
1 cup chopped walnuts

While shortbread is baking, beat eggs with brown sugar and vanilla.  Mix flour, salt, and baking soda together and along with nuts stir into egg mixture.  Spread over lightly over the jam mixture, making sure to get to edge of pan.  Return to oven and bake another 20 to 25 minutes.  Cool and cut into 24 squares.
