1 medium head of cabbage
3 Tablespoons of butter
1 tart apple
6 whole cloves
1/4 cup hot water
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup granulated (white) sugar
Wash and shred cabbage, cook for 10 minutes.
( I cook mine in a deep Teflon Wok ) Drain and add the remaining ingredients
and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove the cloves and serve. Serves 6.
I core the apple, cut it in quarters and then
cut into slices as you would for pie. I also leave the skin on the apple, just
for color.
